Quote of the Week
Charity (sadaqah) is due upon every joint of a person on every day that the sun rises. Administering justice between two people is an act of charity; and to help a man concerning his riding beast by helping him on to it or lifting his luggage on to it is an act of charity; a good word is charity; and every step which you take to prayer is charity; and removing that which is harmful from the road is charity." Reported by al-Bukharee (Eng. Trans. 4/146/no.232)

POLICY FORMULATION

Al-Khair Foundation’s intimate knowledge of the Muslim community has allowed it to participate in the formulation of a range of policy initiatives.

The Foundation is active in formulation policy at a local level to deal with issues such as mental health, children protection, knife crime and other headline issues such as forced marriages.

Advice from the Foundation is actively sought as in the case of the aftermath of the Glasgow Airport bombing in June 2007 when the Foundation was called upon help in liaising with the affected community.

The Foundation has also been actively involved with the Office of the Mayor of London on Muslim issues affecting the capital.
